When you really listen to your client and put your heart into the design, the result may sometimes surprise you! Never in my wildest dream did I imagine Jean Care packaging design will be selected as one of the award winners for CA Illustration Annual 58th Edition.
Skincare line developed by Ming Li Biochemical Technology Co. Ltd. 名麗生化科技股份有限公司 of Taiwan, and sold in greater China region.
It didn't take much for me to agree to the project as I was SO tripped out by the 4" fuchsia studded pomp wore by CEO and Founder Mrs. Ling, 林秀枝女士.
That being said, we decided to start with its most popular product, the reviving facial mask, and its box packaging together with its interior lining, and shopper bag were duly revised.
Design goals are two folds:
1. It was communicated to me that packaging design should not take away from actual product, but to enhance and reflect the awesome-ness of Jean Care facial mask. No joke, the quality and moisturizing aspect of the mask is top notch.
2. To achieve Gaol 1, I decided to elevate current packaging design to something more feminine, soft, and relatable through the introduction of an identifiable character + rose motif design. Most importantly, by using pastel color of rose pink, I hope to create packaging set that will be kept for private use even after the facial masks are long used.
